Summer

Carter and I have had fun hanging out this summer! He is getting big fast! Here are a few of our summer highlights!

There has been a lot of playing in his bouncer,

many naps,

A little work...

lots of eating,

and some monsoon watching!

 In the last few weeks, Carter has been having fun sitting up to play with his toys!

 This month we started a music class. Carter has been much more interested in eating the instruments than playing them.

A few weeks ago we went to the local aquarium. Carter was really impressed by the sting ray. He tried really hard to catch it by the tail!

Carter watched his first fireworks this month! He seemed to think they were pretty neat!

He loves to draw on the IPad!!

He has made friends with my mom's dog!

He LOVES to swim! We go to swimming lesson each week... it really wipes him out!

It's been a lot of fun to see his personality develop. It seems like he learns something new everyday!

Food

We've started food.... Most he likes,.some not so much. At first he thought it was a fun game we were playing. Now he's got the hang of it!

Carter's First Dbacks Game!!

Today Carter went to his first DBacks game! He had fun smiling at Auntie Sarah and watching all of the people. He slept through most of the game, but had lots of smiles while he was awake!!

The Pool

Since Carter loves his baths so much, I decided he had to have a little tiny baby pool. He seemed to like it alright... it will probably be better when he can actually sit up!

Easter Bunny

Carter's first visit to the Easter Bunny... he didn't seem to mind.

South Dakota

Carter took his first trip to South Dakota a few weeks ago. He had fun on his first airplane ride and meeting his great grandma Butenschoen.
During the trip he also saw snow for the first time, was in his first car accident (he didn't even wake up), met our great family friends, the Chats, and walked the Las Vegas strip (long story on how we ended up there)... This kid is a trooper!!!

It was a very adventurous trip... but it all worked out in the end!!!

What's new with Carter this week...

This week Carter has figured out how to swat and grab at his toys! It's nice that he can entertain himself for a few minutes :)

He has also had a few opportunities to wear his new hat. On Sunday he wore it to the Apache Junction Rodeo... where he saw his first little concert. The band that was at our wedding was playing Sunday afternoon, so we went to listen to them.

This week I figured out how to get things done around the house while still "holding" him. He sleeps really well in his little pouch!

He has really started to smile a lot! So much fun and so cute! He is amazingly good at going from smiley happy to screaming mad in a matter of seconds (another trait he gets from dad)!

When I let him lay in bed with me he likes to sleep on his tummy. This morning he decided to sleep with his butt in the air!

I can't believe how fast he is growing! On Monday he weighed just over 10 lbs!

Jerome

We took Carter for his first road trip to Jerome. He did a great job! We enjoyed a few wineries, wonderful food and walking around the town in amazing weather!
